Today I don't have a Valentine, but I do have the comfort and continual love of food! (Which is basically the same thing.) Food is good to smell and look at and make with your hands, and gives you real satisfaction with all the work you've accomplished when you get to eat it. It's a great trade. I've tried some new recipes this month and I want to give you a look at my kitchen fixens'. As you can see, most of these recipes were taken from two people: Joy and Heidi. Check out their sites!
Oatmeal Muffins (I used a different topping.)
Tapioca Pudding (Tip: The best way to eat this is definitely in a mug.)
-"The only thing that saved this meal were the white rolls."
-"Rachel. There's fat on this meat."
-"You officially FAIL at cooking."
-"I found a bone. I almost killed myself!"
-"These potatoes taste like brussel sprouts."
-"Can I have cereal?"
-"So concludes worst dinner ever."
Awwwww. Feelin' the love fam! (Actually I was laughing through the whole thing.)
Boston Creme Pie Cupcakes (aaaaamazing!!!!!! They'll make you fat and happy!)
Pecan Pie Cookies When I made these a couple of my siblings said, "Wow Rach! You've been cooking some good things lately!" Ah, encouragement.
The list of things I want to cook is SO much longer, and I don't plan on stopping in the kitchen anytime soon. If you'd like to see more future recipes on here, holler!!! (I might even be so bold as to try a tofu recipe, which totally freaks me out.)
All my love,
Rachel

ReplyDeleteYou should come cook at my house!!!
You bet, Ho-Ho Mama!!!! Seriously. That would be so fun. :D
ReplyDeleteLooks so delicious!!! Would love seeing more reciepes! (sp)? Cooking is not exactly my forte either! That's like the only reason I'm glad I'm not married yet! Happy Valentines!!!!! Love you girl!
ReplyDeleteKatie
This all looks delicious, Rachel. The thing that caught my eye the most though was the map on the table. I miss sitting at that table! :-(
ReplyDeleteMrs. Howard
We miss you too Mrs. Howard! Soooo much! Looking forward to our next visit. :)
ReplyDeleteYumminess. I've had trouble looking at food pictures for the last couple of months, but yours had enough desserts mingled in that I enjoyed it. (I ate way too many chocolate covered strawberries today.) Anyways, I was going to say that tofu recipes can be really good, as long as you don't try to pretend it's meat. It isn't. My mom has a really good recipe for fried tofu cubes that we used to put on salad all the time.
ReplyDeleteLove ya!

Hannah! I had a chocolate covered strawberry yesterday too! We "match"! (as Catherine would say) Thanks for the tofu encouragement, dearest. ;) Love you too.
ReplyDeleteWhen Kaylee and I were little girls, any time we "matched" in any way at all, one of us would say, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" And then we'd both chime, "Twinzies!!!"
ReplyDeleteBut I like how you said you ate "a" chocolate covered strawberry. One. That must be why you're skinny and I'm fat...
(Because it couldn't be the baby's fault. Of course not.)
And also, I love your new header pictures. :-)

Yummy!
ReplyDeleteNice to see someone (who does not have a restraunt) appreciates gormet food as much as I do. My uncle and I are going to open a restraunt someday.
