Summer 2011 | Personal

Summer.
I love it. It's my favorite season.
I love the way the country looks throughout the entire day. The hay bales and summer clouds in the sky are just perfect.

I love the green that comes with summer.

I love driving in the summer. At night, the air is still warm. During the day, people are out going places to have a good time.

This picture just says "summer" to me. The green, the sister chillin with an apple...

Sometimes at night I couldn't go to sleep because the moon was so bright. But you know what? I love this view, and didn't mind so much since it was summer and I could hear nature talking outside my window all night long (because the windows were open—another wonderful summer aspect!).

Summertime is for backyard football.

When the dudes want to "harvest" 25 gallons of pond mud and cover themselves in it, (*gag*) mom doesn't care. It's summer! :D

This summer I flew (for the first time!) to Texas (for the first time!) to meet my dearest Hannah (for the first time!) and be a bridesmaid (for the first time!) in her beautiful wedding. It was unreal and wonderful.

We had our annual July 4th party!

(how many people can you balance on a raft anyway?!)

I also slept on the trampoline with friends and counted 51 shooting stars before I went to sleep. That's some good stuff. :D

In July I traveled with some lovely people to Colorado for a week!

On the way there we visited lots of sweet places (St. Louis! Woot!) and courtsey of "Safari of Fun" I obtained a big scar going down their slide. Thanks, guys.

Wonderful far away friends visited this summer. :D

I became "Aunt Rachel" :D

My Ruby-girl and I trespassed through a cornfield.

We found a little green frog. Naturally, we kissed it and since it didn't turn into a prince, (boooo.) we determined it must be a girl so we named her Jade. Duh.
(yes, this was a highlight of my summer.)
In the spring we got some piglets...

...and they turned into pigs.

So we took them to the fair.

Fair was a fuuuun week.

Cows. Storms. Flowers. Wind.
Summer.

So there you have it. Parts of my summer in pictures.
Now I'd love to hear from you. What was your favorite thing you did this summer? :D

All my love,
Rachel

Tappan Lake, Ohio Senior Photography | Rebekah

Rebekah is one of those people who I will forever be friends with. She was my first friend when I was a baby (we were newborn friends :D), since our parents attended the same church and lived close. Even if we haven't seen each other for over a year, we pick up right where we left off and are always comfortable around each other! She lives in Northern Michigan, and I moved down here to Ohio when I was three. Somehow our families have kept in touch and try to visit at least once a year. Rebekah's family has a farm, and I've learned so much about animals through Rebekah! We've kayaked, ridden horses, 4-wheeled, camped, and slept in a legit igloo together. She is one of the most reponsible people I know and truly radiates Christ through her behavior. I am so lucky to call her a friend. Love you Booie. <3

I just couldn't help but put these old pictures in the post. :)

Now look at her. **sniff** All grown up and beautiful.

She is adorable and has craaaazy gorgeous hair.

All my love,
Rachel
