The following 3 pictures are of the Benedict's house. It looks like a place full of people, friends, struggles, and happiness. Doesn't it? It is. :)
I was asked to photograph this family as they celebrated Thanksgiving a few weeks early. Their son-in-law Steve was being deployed to Afghanistan, and would miss the actual Thanksgiving in America.
The Benedict's, who pastor a church in Wheeling, have six children. The older three are married adults, and the youngest three are adopted. Four families (in one family :D) were all spiffed up and beautified to be photographed that gorgeous afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Benedict, the parents. :)
Steve arrived. :)
Photographing Steve, Kelly, and their two daughters (ages 15 months and 3 months) was one of my most emotional and rewarding photography experiences. The adoration Steve and Kelly have for each other is clear, as well as the love overflowing for their children. Anyone can see the grace of God reflected through them that will help them make it through the year of separation while Steve serves our county. Please, will you keep them in your prayers?
It was chaotic in the house at this point. Children cried out for more food when the adults were still in the process of serving it out. Dishes clanked. People bustled. But in the craziness of it all? There was such love.
I couldn't help but put so many of this little man on here.
He is adorable.
I loved being able to spend the day with you all. Thank you so much for the opportunity. :)
All my love,
